I just ordered the GazettE’s albums Toxic and Division
Girugamesh’s GO album
I’m getting back into collecting the CDs finally ;w;
My thoughts on the Big Bang concer in LA this November!
I will start off by saying this, I love Big Bang and know a lot of their songs by heart and I do consider myself a V.I.P…but my bestie Lyndsey is the queen V.I.P XD
She’s the biggest V.I.P I know, and I’m mainly going to this concert for her, here’s the sob story~
When I first got into JRock, Miyavi was the first Japanese musician I had ever seen and I love him to this day. Then after that, Dir en grey won my heart. They are my favorite JRock group, and basically my favorite band.
Lyndsey stayed by my side when we saw Diru, my favorite, and Miyavi, also my favorite. THEN when SM Town came last May to LA, she drove HER CAR all the way to California from OKLAHOMA to see them [SHINee is my Kpop bias group ^^v / Shawol] she was with me.
Moral of the story, I owe her big time. She has told me countless times that Big Bang has changed her life, and I believe her. SHINee, Dir en grey, and Miyavi changed mine and she was with me to experience those concerts. It’s my turn to be there with her ^^v
V.I.P’s seem the nicest out of all the Kpop fandoms LOL so please don’t kill me when you smell the SHINee on me XD j/k….but really ;w;
Day 16: Your favorite J-Rock lyric (and a translation).
"There is an answer
So writhe in agony
And let your will to live come out
Everyone’s the same once they sin”
- R to the Core [Dir en grey]
Day 14: Your favourite J-Rock guitarist.
Bou, from An Cafe. <333
If you had told me last year that I was going to be HARDCORE into KPop…I would have cut open your face with a Dir en grey CD.
I hated KPop just because it was so bubbly, and I was into JRock so hard I couldn’t breathe. I have grown more as a human being, and I finally gave it a try. My first KPop song was Wedding Dress by TaeYang…but the group that got me hooked was SHINee.
Ok, when I think of JRock and KPop…I picture 2 completely different worlds. In my mind, Dir en grey is at the top of my JRock list. I would follow them wherever, whenever [if I was RICH]…same goes for SHINee.
I love the fact that they got into this young, before they were old enough to get ‘seriously’ jealous of one another and then break apart to gain more fame and money.
Every single song they have, I can honestly say I like. Yes, there are only a select few that I will play on repeat for hours, but their voices tied together mixed with the music…it really makes something special. Now…I understand HATERS GONNA HATE. This type of music is not for everyone.
Where I live, in Oklahoma, ASIANS are just another race everyone looks down on, and they sure as hell won’t give their MUSIC a chance. This applies everywhere, but I am always hearing, “Why do you listen to something you can’t understand?”
I always used to say I don’t know, but I know now why I listen to Asian music.
Yes, the boys are cute, YES, the music is awesome, YES Asian cultures are cool/cute….
But this music…JRock and KPop both, lift something inside me to make me feel a variety of emotions. I know some of you out there know what I’m talking about. You hear your favorite JRock/KPop song come on, and you embarrass yourself by mockingbirding the lyrics, not have a CLUE [sometimes] what they are singing about.
But I bet you ANYTHING, you are still feeling the emotion and passion those musicians are using. That’s why.
That’s why we listen to what we listen to.
That’s why we listen to songs we sometimes can’t understand.
As humans, we are meant to communicate with each other. Music IS the universal language.
All those people out there that don’t understand why we do it…if they call us stupid or call us wannabe Asians…
They may as well be deaf and dumb.
Music is about passion, feeling, getting your ideas and your soul out and heard by your fellow man.
Without that understanding…without music, it’s like we are all walking in a street the wrong way with the rest of the world tuned out.
Day 13: Your favourite J-Rock drummer.
Shinya from Dir en grey.
Hands down. He’s fucking breath-taking. ‘nuff said. :|
